    Required Clearances

    We are thrilled to have great volunteers with a heart for our future generations!  Our number one priority is the safety of our children, so we do ask that if you are wanting to serve with any of our children or youth programs that you acquire the two clearances below and submit the waiver! The Pa State Police and Pa Child Welfare background checks are free for volunteers.

    If you are volunteering for THE WAY TO READING program which takes place in our local public schools, you will be required to get an additional FBI/Fingerprint clearance. This clearance is NOT free, however, please contact Beckie (beckie@thewaygc.org) our volunteer liaison if you are in need of  reimbursement. As always, if you are able to pay for your own background check it is a huge blessing and help!
